But unlike porcelain mugs you may think of for coffee, some of the original coffee cups, at least in Turkey, were made of thick, handle-less glass. In order to protect the drinker’s hands, and to provide a bit of insulation, they created metal cup holders — called a zarf!
In the modern times, the little cardboard sleeves you might put on your morning brew bear the name zarf, too. The idea that Arzarfs will help coffee drinkers better hold their morning brews is no accident: Arzarf is a mashup of “A Rubber ZARF.” And while you’re thinking about your latte, here’s a shameless plug that our small size silicone sleeves perfectly fit many reusable insulated coffee mugs! Every company has a spark, or a moment where it comes to fruition. For Arzarf, that was when we were shopping for the best insulated water bottles. My wife loved the look and feel of the large Hydro Flask bottles, but was concerned about easily holding a bottle that big, foreseeing a lot of drops and spills while using such an unwieldy bo
Every company has a spark, or a moment where it comes to fruition. For Arzarf, that was when we were shopping for the best insulated water bottles. My wife loved the look and feel of the large Hydro Flask bottles, but was concerned about easily holding a bottle that big, foreseeing a lot of drops and spills while using such an unwieldy bottle. All credit is due to her: it was on that shopping trip when she came up with the idea for Arzarf water bottle holders. Combining her idea, my experience with consumer packaged goods, and a lot of support from family and friends, our first prototypes for Arzarf were born.
The prototype water bottle holders have done their jobs well: some were tested beyond use, and many others didn’t meet our high expectations. Fast-forward to the fall of 2019, and we’re finally in production on Arzarf, a durable silicone sleeve to help you grip your favorite insulated water bottle better when you’re drinking from it, removing the lid, wearing your favorite winter gloves and going for a sip of hot joe, or a multitude of other advantages. One of my close friends described Arzarf as being “Something you don’t know you need until you’ve tried it.” Through all this we developed a really great solution for everyone who needs to get a grip on their hydration.
Arzarf is a small business. We’ve taken a lot of steps to make sure we’re doing the right things the right way. Arzarfs are proudly manufactured in the USA. We support charities that provide clean drinking water to those who need it most and also to charities that focus on environmental concerns.
